- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg yolk and molasses. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to about 1/8 inch thickness. Using a sharp knife or a cookie cutter, cut the dough into thin strips or shapes.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!Try again
